This Privacy Policy explains how Build Reach Limited (NZBN 9429053438355), trading as Mortgage Easy ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects your personal information when you visit mortgageeasy.co.nz (the "Site") or use our online enquiry forms (together, the "Services").

We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the 13 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs). By using the Services you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit an enquiry.

1. What we collect

We only collect personal information that you knowingly provide, or that is generated automatically when you use the Site:

• Contact details: name, email address, mobile number.
• Mortgage enquiry details: approximate loan balance, current lender, fixed-term roll-off date, property ownership, residency status and similar information you enter into the form.
• Verification data: the one-time code we send to verify your mobile number.
• Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, referring page, pages viewed, and similar analytics data, collected via cookies and similar technologies.

We do not collect bank account numbers, passwords, IRD numbers, or full credit information through this Site.

2. Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your information to:

• Introduce you to a licensed New Zealand mortgage adviser who can contact you about refinancing options;
• Verify that you are the person submitting the enquiry (via SMS code);
• Operate, secure, and improve the Site and our marketing;
• Comply with our legal obligations, including anti-fraud and record-keeping requirements.

Mortgage Easy is a marketing introducer only. We do not provide financial advice.Any advice you receive comes from the licensed Financial Advice Provider (FAP) we introduce you to.

3. Who we share it with

We share the information you submit with:

• Licensed mortgage advisers registered on the Financial Service Provider Register (FSPR) and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority. The adviser will contact you directly to discuss your situation.
• Service providers who help us run the Site, including hosting, analytics, email and SMS delivery providers. They are only permitted to use the information to provide those services to us.
• Regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required or permitted by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Marketing communications

By submitting the form you consent to being contacted by phone, SMS, and email by a licensed adviser and, where you have opted in, by Mortgage Easy about related products and services. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by replying STOP to any SMS, or by emailing us (see Contact below).

5. Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your form progress, measure traffic, and improve performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Site may not work correctly without them.

6. Storage, security and overseas disclosure

We hold your information on secure cloud infrastructure. Some of our service providers (for example hosting, email and SMS delivery) store or process data on servers located outside New Zealand, including in Australia, the United States and the European Union. Where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected by privacy safeguards comparable to those in the Privacy Act 2020.

We use industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit, access controls, audit logs) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet our legal obligations. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial services record-keeping requirements, and then securely deleted or de-identified.

8. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email privacy@mortgageeasy.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

9. Children

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
